Practice What You Preach

How firmly do we believe in swim therapy?  Enough that it has become date night for founder Leslie and staffer Bryan.  Both are rehabbing, Leslie from a broken toe and fractured hand.  Bryan from a complete knee replacement.  Where do they go to get better?  The pool, just like our clients.  How’s that for an endorsement?

Puppy Factory Protest Suspended at Elite Animals in WeHo

Good news!  Elite Animals is not currently selling puppies from puppy mills.  Our dedicated group of protesters has moved on to other stores but we keep an eagle eye on Elite.  We’ll be back if the need arises.  Congrats to all those who gave their time and energy to seeing this horrible practice stopped.  Stop the sale of factory puppies.  Stop puppy mills!

Houston...We Have Good News!

Houston is a seven year old German Shepherd who’s been coming to Two Hands Four Paws because of right hind leg lameness, bilateral hip dysplasia and moderate to severe osteoarthritis. He also needed to trim up and shed few pounds.  A regime of exercises at our facility and at home combined with strict feeding guidelines has resulted in Houston becoming stronger, being more comfortable going up stairs, having more energy on walks and a LOSS OF TWO INCHES AROUND HIS WAIST!  You go, you sexy, active man!

Sing, Sing, Sing

Flan is another seven year old Shepherd we work with and if he’s in the pool when you visit, you’ll know.  Flan has partial ACL tears in both hind legs and his vet referred him to us for strength and stability training in lieu of surgery.  After eight weeks of treatment he’s now able to go for two 16-18 minute walks per day, wearing weights!  And like other exuberant Shepherd clients (Madison C., Costa C.) Flan is a singer.  A loud singer who doesn’t miss the opportunity to belt out a few Shepherd classics.  Kind of an acquired taste but we love his enthusiasm.  Sing out, Flan.

Pets of Wilshire Goes Humane!

Score one for the good guys and a big one for the mothers in puppy mills.   Pets of Wilshire in Santa Monica has gone humane after only one loud and effective protest.  Yay!

Success!
